Our students Sky Celebration

roadcast journalism student Cristina Garlington won a Sky News competition to film a local community celebrating the Royal Wedding.


She went back to her old school, which has pupils from all over the world. Cristina said: “My idea was to project this very British celebration with an international flavour; the fact these kids were at school while other pupils were on holiday made it even better.”


Cristina aimed to make her 90 second video as accessible as possible to a worldwide audience.


She said: “The Royal Wedding was fantastic. It was an opportunity for the monarchy to put themselves back on centre stage in a positive light an event enjoyed by many on a world scale.”
