BA (Hons) Inte Journalism T

his exciting and challenging course addresses the practice and study of journalism in a wide variety of international contexts. It is aimed at students who wish to engage with glo- bal events, gain practical skills and study journalism in inter- national contexts.

Practical learning on the course focuses on newspaper and print journalism with introductions to journalism for broad- cast and online media. The flexible design of the programme offers students opportunities to develop a range of skills in specialist areas and there is the chance to undertake a work placement in the UK, or abroad.

Students with English as a second language will be able to enhance their skills through a language programme incorpo- rated into all three years of the course.

The School was the first to launch a programme in Western journalism in China and has spearheaded the development of courses in New Delhi and Guangzhou. Preston students can complete their second year at any one of the three campuses worldwide. Entry requirements are BCC or CCC at A2.

Third year students work in teams of 10 to 15 producing ten magazine editions in a year, five print (see covers, right) and five online. Students rotate editing and design functions, everyone writes, takes pictures and works digitally.
