Isle of Wight entrepreneur takes NatWest Everywoman Award
An Isle of Wight businesswoman has been named as the winner of the Hestia Award at the NatWest Everywoman Awards, presented to an inspirational and successful female entrepreneur running a business in a remote rural location which benefits the local economy.
Sarah Guy (pictured) always wanted to run her own business and set up Isle of Wight Camper Vans, offering a fully-equipped van for tourists to travel around the island, having enjoyed a similar experience in Australia. She sold her car to purchase the first van, and in fewer than five years has grown her fleet to 12 camper vans, double her original forecast.
Passionate about promoting the Isle of Wight as a tourist destination,
printers and offering locally sourced food in guests’ welcome hampers.
Establishing her head office in a run-down property, Guy and her family moved home and invested a substantial sum to transform the building, surrounding grounds and woodland, contributing to the wider regeneration and encouraging investment and engagement from locals and tourists alike.
she works with local businesses and activity providers to promote their services to her clients using local suppliers such as MOT stations, mechanics, laundry services and
