• Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets has bolstered its team with the addition of Hugh Liddane as relationship manager. Liddane, who has been with Lloyds Banking Group since 2006, will be working within the high-turnover portfolio, predominantly with customers of annual turnover over £100 million across the region.
• Following his appointment to CBRE’s City investment team, Robert Silvester heads the firm’s UK regional capital markets team, bringing excellent experience across the UK’s investment markets and contacts with key institutional and overseas investors. Silvester’s new focus will be largely on investment transactions throughout the regions outside central London and he will be heavily involved within the south central area working alongside the agency team in the Southampton office. Prior to joining CBRE in 2010, he spent a number of years at Rock Asset Management.
• After a career spanning 40 years in the property sector, Brian Nicholas has now joined Southampton-based Paris Smith as property consultant. A chartered surveyor, he was formerly head of estates at Southampton City Council and Test Valley Borough Council. At Paris Smith, Nicholas will work alongside planning lawyers and town planners in the commercial property and planning division.
• Commercial partner Kim Walker has returned to the Solent region, with her move to Thomas Eggar’s Southampton office. Having spent a year at the Newbury office, where she heads the commercial team, Walker, who boasts particular expertise in IP and advises on all aspects, including e-commerce and data protection compliance, will continue to lead this area. Having previously worked at Trethowans and Paris Smith, her relocation strengthens and develops Thomas Eggar’s commercial offering in the Solent area.
• Poole-based insurance broker Alan & Thomas (A&T) has made several new appointments to meet growing demand. Ian Feast, a broker with more than 20 years’ experience in commercial insurance, has joined following a spell working in Jersey. He specialises in corporate and commercial insurance. Steven Brown (right) has been appointed to the company’s motor trade team where he will develop the company’s offering to the motor trade, as well as servicing existing motor clients. Liam Wyatt (left) will work in the newly-launched direct commercial team, where he will assist in the development of web-based leads from SMEs following recent investment in the company website, and Mark Evans (centre) has joined the personal insurance team. The group has also appointed Hayley Baverstock as marketing manager to help drive the business forward. A Bournemouth University graduate with over nine years’ professional services marketing experience, Baverstock has joined the Poole-based insurance broker to manage all marketing activity.
• Long-standing commercial director Rob Mitchell has been appointed to the board of directors at AFC Bournemouth. He was invited to join the board after a number of successful seasons in the commercial department, to provide a link between the board and commercial operation at the Seward Stadium. Nicholas Rothwell has also been appointed to the board. With a background in wealth management consultancy, he will act as new co-owner Maxim Demin’s representative.

• Hampshire-based Raymond Brown Minerals & Recycling (RBMR) has announced two strategic appointments as Rob McGready and Andy Sykes take up new positions in the business. Former area operations manager McGready takes on the role of heading waste operations while Sykes joins RBMR from Raymond Brown Construction (RBC) as area operations manager. In his new role McGready will head operations at waste transfer sites at Thruxton, Casbrook Park, Romsey, and the A303 Recycling Facility near Andover. Sykes will be managing quarries and recycling operations within RBMR’s recycling facilities.
• Claudia Roberts , partner solicitor at Glanvilles, has completed the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Advance Diploma. She is now not only the sole Isle of Wight solicitor who is a chartered tax adviser, but also one of the first solicitors in the country to have acquired the standard as well as the advance STEP diploma.
• Blake Lapthorn has appointed Manoj Styche-Patel as head of its corporate department. He succeeds Simon Treherne, who completed his third term as head of the corporate department and will continue to focus on his work with family companies, farming enterprises, private business owners and entrepreneurs. Styche-Patel joined Blake Lapthorn in 1999 and is based at the firm’s Southampton office. Prior to his appointment, he led the firm’s corporate transactional team in the Solent region. His clients include many companies within the leisure and hospitality sector.
