COMPANY UPDATE

Rockhound Supplies for Retail

ELOXITE, A wholesale distributor of rockhound supplies, jewelry parts, and beading supplies, was founded in 1955 by Robert Berry. Initially located in his Omaha, NE, basement, Berry soon moved to Wheatland, WY, a location the company has now operated out of for more than 45 years. “Berry was a rockhound and rock collector, and came to Wyoming because he had some agate and jade claims out here,” says Pat Murphy, Eloxite’s president. “Somebody mentioned the building we’re in now was for sale, so he moved in.” The wholesaler’s inventory includes items such as pendants, bracelets, belt buckles, gemstone necklaces, and jewelers’ tools. Eloxite also offers jewelry craft supplies, equipment and supplies for those who collect raw agates, gems, and minerals to be cut and polished for jewelry products and rock crafts.
