JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2012 In this Issue... A new year, a new gear.

2011 was a breakout year for the Colorado Springs cycling community. Many organizations hosted inaugural charity rides, and a few new racing events came into the works.

The biggest event was no doubt the USA Pro Cycling Challenge. It will be back again. This national event has lit a fire under the laurels of many, and it’s important that we all piggyback on the excitement.

Volume 4 Issue 7

2012 looks to be another great year for cycling as many events are returning for another chance to ride and even some new events will be introduced. Some we can talk about, and some we can’t…yet.

Some very exciting news is the St. Patrick’s Day Pedal. Yep, you can join in the legendary St. Patrick’s Day Parade in a downtown social ride. I encourage everyone to be a part of this new ride.

Due to space constraints, I was unable to put all the bike events in this issue, but I wanted shine a spotlight on a few that I thought you all would be interested in.

Make sure to support and participate in as many as you can this year.

Stay up to date on all of these rides at the comprehensive calendar at PeakRegionCyclist.com and PikesPeakSports.us.

2012 is shaping up to be a great year. Get out there!
