It’s only in it’s 3rd year, but the
waves that the Patriots Festival and Ride for Heroes has made in a short time are incomparable.
Ride director, Torie Giffin, has
created a local ride that touches the heart of almost everyone in Colorado Springs.
She did this by putting the focus of
the event on the heroes who live among us: the Military, the Police, and the Firefighters.
People came out of the woodwork to
participate in and support this ride. Almost 500 residents came out to honor the loved one that they call “hero”.
The ride included a 28 mile, a 14
mile, and 1 mile kid’s route. Keep your calendar set for the
Saturday breakfast rides at the Garden of the Gods Chick-Fil-A leading up to the event. (Rides begin April-May and go until September).
Torie hasn’t confirmed that the ride
is set in stone around September 11th again this year, but if you know Torie, you can bet your paycheck that it will happen!
