Amazon have not yet set a release date for the Kindle Fire in the UK or Europe however it is expected that it will be mid-February and will have a price tag of £200 or less.
It has been released now for a number of months in the U.S. and the reviews are quite promising for the newcomer on the market. When compared to the existing Kindles on the market, the Fire is not so much an upgrade but more a completely different tool entirely. The original Kindle’s are nothing more than eBook readers with their monochrome displays and limited functions; the new Fire on the other hand has a full colour display, ability to playback videos and music. It can browse the web and it also has access to a huge number of ready available apps.
If you have been thinking of getting yourself a tablet this year and not sure you wanted to spend the 450€ plus on
an Ipad then maybe the Amazon Kindle Fire is the one for you. It’s light, portable and if the pricing is right then it’s also a bargain in the expensive tablet market.
