J80 World Championship For the first time Dartmouth plays host to the exciting J80 World Championships. These exhilarating and fast sports boats will be contending fiercely with each other in Start Bay as they reach speeds of up to 15 knots.
7 - 11 August
Shakespeare Week 2012 is the year in which the Inn Theatre Company and Dartmouth Shakespeare week celebrate their tenth anniversary. The first play that they performed was ‘Twelfth Night’ and the Company are returning to it this year to mark their decade of presenting Shakespeare in the grounds of Dartmouth Castle. 11 August Dittisham Regatta
Dittisham’s day to let its hair down. A real family event that centres around the beach and landing at Dittisham. There’s music, fun and games to be had. An easy tender ride from Noss, this is a day not to be missed.
August Dartmouth Crab Festival (Exact date not available at time of going to press)
The second Dartmouth Crab Festival organised by Visit South Devon and fronted by celebrity chef, Mitch Tonks, takes place on the South Embankment where over 200 people sit down to eat local crab and drink local wine. Stalls abound and many local establishments offer crab based delicacies. Keep your eye on the website
