Dear Readers, 2012 THE

MAGAZINE DEDICATED TO

HUNTERS AND

JUMPERS IN THE WEST

other again, it is always a bit melancholy and yet gives jitters of excitement at the same time. 2011 been a tumultuous year, and exciting one, a difficult one and yet one of great hope, but it is out the door and 2012 is shinning bright at us with all the unknown the year will bring. Let’s make it a good one. The wonderful EAP program for USHJA has seen some changes. Ask any of the riders who have been involved and the answer will be the same, THANKS USHJA, thanks Melanie Taylor Smith and Mindy Bower and a special thanks to the committee that kept it alive with a bright future. Change is always difficult, and the end results may be “different” but only time will dictate the final vote. For ShowBiz, this is one of our pet projects and we look forward to many years ahead for it…. Anyone want to sponsor or help fund it?? We are adding a new column, Behind the Scenes. It can be about anything connected with the industry. A person who works behind the scenes, a young trainer doing an exemplary job, an over the road horse transportation business, a special new discovery in the vet field, new modes of getting information to the public and any other idea that jumps into the mind of the ShowBiz staff. This first one is a new web site for the Murphy family that ShowBiz has been involved in creating. The guidance and creation of my family and especially my sister, the web site is a one stop resource site that connects all facets of the hunter jumper industry. It is extensive…want to know who leads World Cup

we turn to gimmicks and gadgets that inflict ANY discomfort or pain to these wonderful creatures just to make their performance “better”, it would best serve us to stop and take a breath, that may be what true horsemen do.
