First Friday Coffeehouse hosts

Daniel Boling, a touring song- writer/balladeer from New Mex- ico, on December 2. You’ll hear a rich tapestry of Boling’s worldly experiences in his songs. From a vagabond running off with a tiny circus to tour the West; to an aging Viet Nam veteran look- ing back with surprise at his de- parted youth; a young rancher inheriting his grandfather’s nearly worn out rangeland and hoping he can hold on and live up to the family legacy; a pas- senger on Flight 93 calling his wife to say goodbye; and morons with a death wish set on proving Darwin’s theory of evolution. Doors open for social time

and open mic sign-up at 7:30 p.m. A one-hour open mic ses- sion precedes the feature art- ist with eight participants per- forming two songs each in one of the area’s premier listening rooms. Snacks and refreshments served. The venue is Trinity Church

Orchard House at 4599 Shep- herdstown Rd. (Rt. 45/north side), midway between Martins-

burg and Shepherdstown. A $5 - $10 donation is requested. Dona- tions of new gifts for needy teens will also be collected for Opera- tion Teen Christmas. For infor- mation, contact Steve Warner, 304-676-4422 or 304-876-2915. Also check www.myspace.com/ firstfridaycoffeehouse.
