Sam Cam comes to Hayes

THE Prime Minister’s wife came to Hayes to officially open a new school. Samantha Cameron visited Baston House School, in Baston Road, which supports children aged 5-16 who are affected by an Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), such as Asperger Syndrome. The school is the brainchild of Anna Kennedy, who has

two sons with ASC and is a well-known campaigner for improved educational facilities for people with autism. She said: “We are absolutely delighted that Samantha could officiate at this very important day for our school. She clearly has a real empathy with children, particularly those with special needs, and her presence has meant much to pupils and staff today who are so proud of what the school is trying to do.

Speaking at the official opening, Mrs Cameron said:

"I have great admiration for Anna Kennedy's determination to help people affected by autism and I'm pleased to celebrate this landmark opening with her. “She was quite rightly named 'Most Inspirational

Woman of the Year' by the Daily Mail in 2010 and I'm so pleased she has achieved her ambition of opening this school, which stands as testament to her dedication to this important cause."
