Thousands enjoy the 2011 Hayes Fair

THE ever-popular Hayes fair passed off without rain this year, drawing thousands of visitors. Crowds packed into the grounds of Baston House School, Baston Road to enjoy a Jaguar car show, games, displays, entertainment and a raffle. “We got drenched marking it up and the heavens opened after the event but it stayed dry throughout the fair,” said Hayes Village Association member Stuart Howe. “It was very rewarding, after months of hard work, to see everybody having such a great time. It is good to know that charities benefit as well.” Charities and not-for-profit groups

are allocated stalls at the fete and keep the monies they raise. The organising committee’s profits would also be distributed to good causes, Mr Howe said.
