Warren Bills - 9-16-22-5/7/11. Director Volusia County Fair – Warren Bills Agency. Warren was a Big Band Orchestra Leader, starting with the Ted Weems Orchestra in 1946. He toured with the Jimmy Dorsey Or- chestra and played drums with many of the big name bands. Later he opened his own agency and booked a variety of top name entertainment from polka to country. Origi- nally from Huntington, West Virginia he lived in Illinois and Deland, Florida.


Jack Whiddon, Sr. 10/28/17—3/7/11


Jack moved with his family to Tallahassee


around 1925. He graduated from Florida High School. In 1939, he met and married the love of his life, Josephine (Jo) Guilford. After sev- eral years of working for the railroad, he founded Automobile Glass Company with his brother-in-law, Arnold Eves, in 1945. Mr. Whiddon became sole owner in 1950 and renamed the business Whiddon Glass Com- pany. He was active in its operation until his


retirement. He served as a Leon County Commissioner


from 1956 to 1976 and was a loyal servant of his constituents. He was also active in the North Florida Fair Association, serving on the Board of Directors for more than 50 years. In 1976 he was elected to the Board of the Florida Federation of Fairs. He was a Life Member of the Talla- hassee Elks Lodge 937 or the B.P.O.E., the Robert Butler Masonic Lodge F. & AM and Scottish Rite Bodies. After his retirement, Jack and Jo spent many days at their cottage on Alligator Point fishing, crabbing, shrimping, and pulling his net. Stephen N. Combs 3/1/41—5/9/2011


Beloved husband of Darla Combs, Volusia County Fair. Born in Seymour, Indiana, he served in the United States Marine Corps and was proud to be a Marine. He was a member of the American Legion. He had worked for the Volusia County Fair Association and Volusia County Extension Services—Agriculture De- partment. He enjoyed watching NASCAR races, college basketball and football, fishing and being a metal detector hobbyist. His family includes Brenda, Debra, Gregory, Randy,


Ryan, Nicholas, Brittany, Erin, Lauren, Phillip and Mark. Also his adored cats—Brickles and Chloe. Stephen will rest at Jacksonville National Cemetery, Jacksonville, FL.

7/29/38—3/11/2011 Larry Joseph Orme, 72, of Louisville,


formerly of Corydon, died Friday, March 11, 2011 in Brandon, Florida. He was born July 29, 1938, in New Albany. He was the founder and president of Carousel Foods, Inc. He was also a co-founder of the Na- tional Independent Concessionaires Asso- ciation. Larry always recognized the good in


each of the people whose lives he touched. Ever so gently he encouraged each of us to put forth our best and intro- duced us to a quality or talent we had hid- den. He was a teacher by example and took many risks in order to do the right thing, in all instances. In the con- tinued spirit of Larry and the Miller family, his family will continue the Fair business, which was inherited from Olivia's father, Chet Miller.


George Frazer 7/15/1943—4/8/2010


George M. Frazer, Jr., 66, of Naples, Florida passed away on April 8, 2010. He was born on July 15, 1943 in Wayne, Michigan and moved to Marco Island, Florida in 1971. George was the man- ager of the Collier County Fair and was President of the Florida Federation of Fairs in 1991.
