Florida Strawberry Festival Holds Ground Breaking Ceremony
The Board of Directors at the Florida Strawberry Festival
has approved the construction of a multi-purpose center which will be used for livestock shows and sales during the annual event. A Ground Breaking Ceremony was held in honor of the new Multi-Purpose Center on Tuesday, April 12, 2011. The main building of this complex will have approxi-
mately 33,000 square feet of enclosed air-conditioned space. The building will seat approximately 3,000 people and will be used for agricultural events during the Festival while also providing available space for off season events. This will be the first phase of three buildings with the re- maining two buildings potentially being constructed next year. The two additional buildings will be used for housing animals during Festival livestock events. The Plant City Community has once again shown tre-
mendous support in the development of this facility. There is a great need for a facility of this size in the Plant City and Eastern Hillsborough Country area and we are excited to begin the construction process.
