The monthly community magazine for Dartmouth and local villages

Best read local publication by far IN THIS ISSUE Dear Reader

I think the last month has proved conclusively why Dartmouth is such a special place to live and visit. Glorious autumnal weather (except the downpours over half term!) framed the area’s beauty perfectly; the Dartmouth Food Festival was a huge success and a magnificent superyacht (Eos) visiting Dartmouth added yet more interest.

As we rush towards Christmas, relax with your latest issue of By The Dart. Interviews this month include: renowned local poet Brian Patten, Dartmouth Community Sergeant Iain Simons, Flavel General Manager Ian Blackwell and Golf Club Ladies Captain Eileen Parkes.

Interested in history? read our feature on Exercise Tiger ahead of Remembrance Sunday and the role played by Dartmouth in the Crusades.

How Dartmouth Works returns with part 3 - telephony. This covers the advent, we hope, next year of super-broadband. Businesses like ours can’t wait as it should save us a few late night hours sending the magazine to the printers when we go to press. We also review the DHNA work over at Hoodown.

Finally, don’t forget that Candlelit Dartmouth takes place over the first weekend in December (see page 24).

Finally, we are busy on the 2012 edition of our Annual Business & Community Directory (out in January). If your club, society or business isn’t currently listed then get in touch soonest. If you haven’t booked an advert for your business then you can do no better - it provides the best value for money of any local or area directory and ensures that as a local business you’re seen by local people (lots of them!).
