Lincolnwood
Means Business Lincolnwood means business. With more than 700 businesses calling Lincolnwood home, Lincolnwood is an attractive business hub, located where the City meets the North Shore.
From Lou Malnati’s Restaurant, one of the areas most famous pizza makers, which originated in Lincolnwood, to well known regional icons Grossinger Auto and Loeber Motors, to national retailers like Carson Pirie Scott, Kohl’s and the area’s first Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse, Lincolnwood has a dynamic blend of both small and large, as well as innovative and long established businesses.
At only 2.7 square miles in size, Lincolnwood is a powerhouse of business and industry, with employment in the Village roughly equaling the Village’s resident population. Goods made in Lincolnwood, from auto part manufacturers, tool and die shops, plastic and printing operations, to food processing, are shipped throughout the nation and world.
The advantages of a Lincolnwood business location are many. From a prestigious company address to desirable markets, from great metropolitan access with close proximity to downtown Chicago and O’Hare Airport, to low taxes and responsive local government, Lincolnwood is a great place to do business.
Business visibility and participation in the community is encouraged. The Lincolnwood Chamber of Commerce and Industry provides a full calendar of business networking and social opportunities and keeps member businesses up-to-date on the latest local business news. Annually, the chamber organizes the community’s Salute to Business and organizes business participation in various community events, such as the very popular Lincolnwood Fest.
Lincolnwood’s commitment to its business community is strong. An active Village Economic Development Commission works throughout the year to maintain a strong local economy and to spearhead business area improvements. Recently completed improvements include major infrastructure enhancements in the Touhy-Crawford Business District; a new access roadway in the Lincolnwood Business Park and plans have been developed for the revitalization of the Lincoln Avenue corridor. The Village further encourages businesses to improve their properties and the environment through innovative grant programs. Lincolnwood indeed means business and it is a great place to do business!
