Lincolnwood School District 74 is comprised of three schools all located on the same campus. Children are served from Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. A Superintendent, an Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, an Assistant Superintendent for Business, and an elected School Board comprised of seven officials, is responsible for the overall function of the district. The community of Lincolnwood is very supportive of the schools, students and parents. Members of the Lincolnwood Police Department and the Fire Department are always available for presentations and help ensure a safe school zone. Todd Hall serves students Pre-Kindergarten through Second Grade. The Pre-Kindergarten is a tuition-based program that serves three and four year old children. The dedicated teaching staff is committed to continued professional growth and development. The faculty and staff work together to create a safe and inviting atmosphere for all students to perform their very best. Curriculum is based upon common core and state standards. Developmentally appropriate instruction is differentiated to meet the learning needs of all students. Students are supported in their social and emotional development as well as through a district wide program, Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS). Rutledge Hall is an intermediate school building that serves students in Grades Three, Four, and Five. The goal of the school and staff is to “enable ALL students to become productive, creative, and responsible life-long learners who are able to assume an active role within the school, community, country, and world.” A strong academic program exists to meet the needs of the varied learners, with reading and math being core areas of focus. Other core academic areas of instruction include writing, science, and social studies. Additionally, students receive other subjects that enhance their learning and help them explore their talents. Art, music, library, and physical education are taught on a regular basis. Technology is integrated throughout the day and in a variety of ways. Special programs are available for those students who qualify and may need additional support. Programs in special education, gifted, and ELL help enhance the learning process, and help students’ needs best be met. Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) is utilized for support with behavior, at Rutledge and throughout the District. The staff recognizes

the need for and benefit of a strong home-school connection. Parents are welcome partners and are encouraged to volunteer with school activities. Lincoln Hall Middle School’s mission, which serves students in Grades Sixth through Eighth, is to create intelligent, compassionate, and contributing citizens. To create those thoughtful citizens, Lincoln Hall Middle School staff teaches a rich core of knowledge in multiple disciplines, as well as the habits of mind that enable students to make connections among these disciplines and to apply their skills to life beyond school. Lincoln Hall offers a full spectrum of academic core courses, such as science, social studies, math, language arts, reading, and physical education. To successfully meet the needs of the diverse population, there are additional programs for English Language Learners, advanced learners and learners with disabilities. All seventh and eighth graders strengthen their knowledge of communication, cultures, and community through the study of the Spanish language. Furthermore, exploratory classes are offered at all grade levels in the areas of music, voice, art, family and consumer science, and public speaking. Finally, technology is integrated throughout the educational setting so students acquire the skills they need to survive in a complex, highly technological knowledge-based economy.
