Shiva Rea in Yogawoman
explores how women have taken a traditionally masculine practice and adapted it to female bodies. Through personal stories, the film reveals how yoga has transformed the lives of millions of over-stimulated, overscheduled, multitasking mod- ern women. The documentary depicts women using this ancient practice to ease health conditions like breast cancer, infertility, heart disease, anxiety and depression. It also shows how yoga has been a lifeline for women in prison, abuse survivors, and those struggling with body image or eating disorders.
