he latest installment of Deus Ex really captures the spirit and feel of the original (no mean feat), allowing the player to progress through the game in various ways
depending on your play-style. You can approach missions in a covert, stealthly manner, go at them all guns blazing or tackle them many different ways inbetween. A fantastic first-person shooter, you play the part of security
chief, Adam Jensen, who gets thrust into a global conspiracy involving augmentation technology, in a world very reminiscient of blade-runner. Through augmentation, the game allows you to alter yourself in order to perform the extraordinary, whether it be turning temporarily invisible (in order to sneak past unsuspecting guards), hacking enemy robots and turrets to turn on your attackers, to gaining super strength and agility. The options and scope for creating varied gameplay are impressive. Everything from the gripping, intelligently written storyline

to the stunning soundtrack and beautifully realised, golden- hued, future world all combine to draw you in, giving you many moral choices and story affecting decisions to make along the way. The game is incredibly immersive, lasting 35-40 hours
(including side-missions), though it almost demands multiple play throughs, and I found myself starting a second run as soon as I’d finished the game just to see what I’d missed and to approach the missions in a different way. Although there is a very busy period for fantastic games
approaching, this really does deserve to be played... a science- fiction masterpiece. GL
