MIDAS VENICEF

www.midasconsoles.com

Midas’ VeniceF is a ‘digi-log’ compact mixing console complete with a FireWire multi-channel digital audio interface, classic XL3 EQ and comes bundled with a free trial copy of Propellerhead’s Record software package. The VeniceF features the full functionality and sound quality of the much-loved Midas XL3 EQ and filter section, Midas mic preamps, 100mm faders, increased channel and input count, a 7 x 2 matrix and a reorganised master section layout. The VeniceF’s

32 x 32 FireWire capability adds 32 channels of multi-track recording and playback (VeniceF 32) using any suitable FireWire-equipped computer, without the need for additional costly interfaces. This also offers the possibility of a virtual sound-check and allows third-party plug-ins to be run as channel inserts and third-party effects routed via aux sends and returns. VeniceF has individual routing to groups, all six aux sends are individually switchable pre or post fade, and the two aux buses designated as monitor (foldback) sends are also switchable pre/post EQ on an individual channel basis. Although specifically designed for live sound, the audio performance, and the addition of a FireWire digital audio interface means that the VeniceF is equally at home in recording and remixing applications.

SOUNDCRAFT MFXI

www.soundcraft.com

Soundcraft’s MFXi mixers are compact and ideally equipped for live sound applications. Eight, 12 and 20 mono input MFXi mixers are empowered by built-in 24-bit Lexicon processing, delivering 32 stunning reverb, delay and chorus effects. All MFXi mixers in- clude two stereo input channels along with a two track record output and a two track replay input which al- lows interval music to be easily played from CD, MP3 or other music source. For increased versatility, each

model in the MFXi range has two subgroups as well as a main stereo mix, making control of groups of channels much easier to manage. These are supplemented by two auxiliary busses which can be used for effects sends or to provide a foldback monitor mix for artists. The MFXi consoles use vertically mounted PCBs which are secured with nutted pots for extra strength, stability and easy servicing. Well-spaced controls provide easy access at those critical control moments, enhanced by clear legending which highlights linked or associated functions. Sound quality is assured by Soundcraft’s now-legendary GB30 mic preamp and the use of professional condenser microphones is facilitated by the provision of globally switched +48V phantom power. New circuit designs have improved audio quality, and lowered the overall noise floor of the console and FX sections. An integral universal power supply negates the need for an external power module.

STUDIO MASTER MCX SERIES

www.studiomaster.com

The MCX range of mixers have created a new level in price performance for the discerning sound engineer, installer and band. The rugged steel chassis houses the individual circuit boards using only nutted controls for security and long service life. The four band EQ offers responsive control and mic channels include two frequency sweep controls. A total of six auxiliary sends (all selectable pre or post fader) provide ample feeds to external effects, monitors or zones and the

100mm faders give smooth accurate level adjustment. The stereo channels also include a mic input which can be used simultaneously with the stereo inputs. This gives a total of three inputs per stereo channel illustrating the flexibility of the MCX range. The group and main mix section combines individual LED metres, balanced outputs and mute facilities but can also be switched into stage mode. This handy feature swaps the group and mix faders with the auxiliary send rotary controls effectively producing a stage monitor mixer. This feature alone makes the MCX range the ideal choice for rental / hire companies. There are four models available: 12, 14, 24 and 32 channel frame sizes with the two larger models including an external power supply.
