Awareness The Psychological

Approach to Driving. Re Courses: Speed Awareness: Driver Awareness: Pass-Plus:

Increase your personal knowledge before you attend one of these courses and learn of some disturbing ambiguities at the same time. Learn to think outside the box. There are many psychological aspects which you may not know. IT'S TIME FOR A NEW APPROACH TO DRIVER EDUCATION! Since 1993 when the first fixed speed cameras appeared in Britain, the authorities have taken about £100 million from motorists in fines and on 'Speed Awareness' courses. Has it reduced the crash rate? No, it hasn't.

If you choose to attend a 'Speed Awareness' course then you must make sure that by the end of it, having paid your money, you know more than you did at the start. More to the point, will what you know be of use to you? Increase your knowledge before you attend and discover some ambiguities too! Find this information in our book "Mind How You Go". It will teach you to think outside the box. It isn't enough to watch videos of people being run down on the roads. These images have an immediate impact but will you remember them next time you decide to 'put your foot down'? Any driver education is better than none but, again, are you going to be preached at or will you learn something new? Also, if you feel humiliated whilst attending one of these courses, it’s unlikely you will learn anything of note. IT WAS EINSTEIN IN ONE OF HIS MANY QUOTES, WHO SAID "IT WOULD BE BETTER IF YOU BEGIN TO TEACH OTHERS ONLY AFTER YOU YOURSELF HAVE LEARNED SOMETHING." Do you know an easy way to work out how much space you require to stop at various speeds? Look for the answer in our book "Mind How You Go". There is, obviously, no encouragement from me for anybody to break the law or, especially, to drive inappropriately, but what does the law say about slow drivers? Anything? Nothing? Is a SLOW driver a careful driver? What does the phrase "SPEED KILLS" actually mean? If it's as simple as that, why are the Police allowed to speed? Why can other emergency vehicles travel at speed? The answer is that there is a word missing in that phrase - it's the word “INAPPROPRIATE.” Why? Ask the instructor on your 'Speed Awareness' course. I'd be surprised if you received a meaningful and complete answer! The correct answer will be, “Speed kills when it’s in the wrong place and used by the wrong person.” The use of ‘Speed’ (no matter what it is) is a driver education and psychological matter and just to use ‘speed cameras’ and propaganda to try and make the roads safer is not the answer. What's the CORRECT speed? It's not just what a speed limit says. How do you know what it is? The authorities want motorists to be slaves to signs on the road. They don't want people to THINK. They want to be Nanny and have signs everywhere to tell you exactly what and what not to do. However, when you're looking at all these signs, are you looking at the road? 'Driver Awareness' and the book "Mind How You Go" have answers to all of these questions and more besides. You can see for yourself by going to our sister site: www.mindhowyougo.co.uk and buying the book now. Driver Awareness methods are based on Police and Military VIP driving techniques (for everyday drivers) and show you a new way to think.

Attend any kind of driving course (as a qualified driver) and on most occasions the instructor will TELL you what to do with regard to dealing with a particular driving action or situation. You will do it (at the time) but without the ‘HOW TO DO, AND WHY’, the instruction will fall on deaf ears. By reading this regular column, you will discover hundreds of useful, relatively unknown, driving security tips.

Patience is something you admire in the driver behind you and can’t stand in the driver ahead of you.

A man is taking his son to school, when he inadvertently makes an illegal turn at the lights. ‘Uhoh, I just made an illegal turn!’ the man says. ‘It’s okay, Dad,’ replies his son. ‘The police car behind us did the same thing!’
