Propark Wins Green Parking Council Sustainability Award
The U.S. Green Parking Council (GPC) recently announced that one of its plat-
inum launch partners, Propark America, has been recognized by the MetroHartford Alliance and the Hartford (CT) Business Journal as a 2011 “Business Champion for Excellence in Sustainability.” “Propark America continues to help pioneer the movement toward environmen-
tal sustainability within the parking sector,” said Marc Alt, Executive Director of the GPC. “The Green Parking Council appreciates the fact that our launch partners put into place real, tangible initiatives that are a positive step forward for the industry.” One of the first parking companies to partner with the GPC, Propark has multi-
ple GPC demonstrator sites across the country, including Canopy Airport Parking at Denver International Airport, which is billed as one of the world’s greenest parking facilities. The company also installs Juice Bar electric vehicle charging stations in select facilities, in addition to recycling stations, tire inflation stations and energy effi- cient lighting. The award presented to Propark was officially recognized and commended by Connecticut Gov. Dannel P. Malloy.
