Reflections
Pooling research ideas across the disciplines, sharing new insights with the wider public, and asking questions at the cutting edge of science, humanities and the social sciences
Is there water in space? How can we ensure fair access to water for the world’s poor? What can different cultures teach us about how to cherish water? How can we adapt to the challenges of climate change?
The IAS Water year encapsulated a wide range of activities across the disciplines. What follows are just a few reflections on the ways in which the IAS engaged with the theme of Water, looking at the political, scientific and cultural attitudes that we hold towards this vital and sometimes scarce resource. Listings of all publications emerging from IAS activities and further details of the work of individual Fellows are contained later in this report.
