Happy Summer everyone! I hope you are finding the time to relax, enjoy yourself and your kids and escape the summer heat. As I write this, I am on vacation in Colorado, well semi-vacation anyway. You can read all about my experiences working away from home and about Estes Park, Colorado as a fun family getaway on page 6.
There is a great article from Rebekah Cooksey on visiting Sea World with your family. Make sure to check this out if you have a trip planned to San Antonio this summer. She has great tips!
If you are traveling by car this
summer, be sure to take along our Car Bingo game!
Our theme for the July issue is Science, Math and Technology. We have some great articles from the
Cover Artist...
Kai is 6 years old and going into the first grade in the Fall. He loves animals, building with Legos and anything Star Wars related. He enjoys swimming and being active outside with his friends and older brother.

Your child will receive $50 when we use his/her artwork on the cover of NTK. North Texas Kids loves kids’ art. Feel free to send us your child’s Masterpiece. We are looking for covers that are unique, bright and colorful. Each child that appears on our cover receives $50.00 along with his/her picture and story in the paper. Submissions may be digital or print. Email pictures to info@
northtexaskids.com or mail them to Scissortail Publishing, LLC. 2220 Coit Rd., Ste. 480-214, Plano, Texas 75075.
Museum of Nature and Science and Sci-Tech Discovery Center, both of which have great exhibits this summer and are fun places to beat the heat!
We have a great list of
spraygrounds you might want to check out. Getting wet is always a good idea on hot summer days. There are great locations around the metroplex.
Check out our new video and recipe from Doorstep Chef and do some cooking with your kids this summer. I know I want both of my kids to know how to cook before they leave home.
As always, we have fun games, crafts, educational articles and ideas for what to do this month. Happy Summer Reading!
