The process of grant writing combines both creativity and detail. When working with a granting agency, this process is often an interactive process. Both groups bring their experience, knowledge and passion on behalf of people. This collaboration speaks well to the power of working together to achieve more than you can achieve on your own.


When thinking about the concept of working together, I begin thinking about sports teams. If you have watched any sporting event, it quickly becomes apparent whether the team members are working together or playing as individuals. It is powerful and exciting to see a group of talented players working together for a common goal. Team members who don’t work together often become frustrated and lose the game.


At the Good Samaritan Society, we believe no goal is too large if the people we serve, their families, our donors and granting agencies all work as a team.
