While the first few years were 24-7, the Draders now have more staff and feel confident that the business will be run responsibly when they take time off.


“Being able to plan our own schedule and make our own decisions about how things are done is invaluable,” Drader says of owning his own business.


And it’s rewarding to know that through their business, people are being helped, he adds.


“It is nice to be able to provide people with knowledge and skills that they can take into the field to make them safer.”


Absolute Safety Management provides safety services including industrial safety training, on-site safety supervision, consulting on loss control and risk management issues, as well as providing gas detection instruments and safety equipment. The


staff is qualified in the development and auditing of health and safety programs. Certified auditors are available for Certificate of Recognition requirements.


Absolute Safety is the Western Canadian Spill Services responder for the Brooks and Medicine Hat region. The petroleum companies in the area work together to achieve a state of spill response readiness and Absolute Safety organizes drill exercises annually to prepare in case of emergency.
