The Role of Art & Antique Dealers An Added Value

CINOA IS THE WORLD ASSOCIATION OF ART & ANTIQUE DEALER ASSOCIATIONS.

CINOA was established in 1935 by dealers for dealers. CINOA stands for Confédération Internationale des Négociants en Oeuvre d’Art.

CINOA represents 5000 dealers from 32 associations in 22 countries. Dealers cover a wide array of specialties from antiquities to contemporary art.

ILAB (International League of Antiquarian Booksellers) is an associate member representing 2000 booksellers through 23 national associations in 33 countries.

Membership of CINOA is based on associations which bind their dealer members to adhere to reputable standards of quality, expertise and integrity.

CINOA’s mission is to: • Advocate for art & antique dealers • Protect national heritages • Eliminate traffic of stolen art & antiques • Support artistic development, education and research • Promote private and public collections

Our members are from Australia, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Republic of Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia & CIS, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.

CINOA celebrates 75 years of helping Art and Antique dealers

For 75 years CINOA has been devoted to its founding aims. CINOA responds proactively to dealers’ concerns and offers international support to the CINOA dealer associations. Members benefit from shared knowledge and an international network of experts on art, antiques and related matters.

One of CINOA’s major functions is to assist national associations in dealing with their trade issues. Issues often arise in more than one country and can, in turn, have a significant impact on others, so international co-operation is essential. In a market, challenged by increasing regulations, both nationally and internationally, CINOA plays an important communication and information role as well as providing an international voice for dealers.
