“People make me happy” And the feeling is mutual.

“I have the most wonderful husband, the most wonderful family, the most wonderful friends, the most wonderful job and the most wonderful house in the most wonderful location. Life is wonderful!”

Mona is a woman who exudes gratitude. She is able to recognize all that has been given to her, both good and bad and turn it into a positive part of who she is.

“Life for me today doesn’t get any better.” What else can be said?!

“I have always worked in the helping others field. I just like helping people and meeting different people.”

Those that have had the pleasure of meeting Mona quickly feel her generous spirit and authentic willingness to be of service to others.

“I feel like everything I have done in my life up to this point, career, personal, school, has prepared me for this job as the Executive Director of the RMH of Charlotte. This is where I have been striving to be, I am here for a reason. There are no coincidences.”

Mona has allowed her life to take it where it needs to go, with a healthy dose of hard work, fortitude and a willingness to let her experiences direct her.

“The best advice is to surround yourself with good people, people smarter than you, loyal to you, kind to you, believe in you. Be part of groups, network, and get to know lots of people, really know them. Be real and sincere, remember everyone matters. Always do what you say you will do and always follow up, show people you care, listen. These are also the kind of people I choose as my mentors. People who can help me grow into what I can become, support and love me”

Mona is the master at connecting and it is a simple formula: Acknowledge that we are all a community of people working our best to showcase the best possible us.

“I am living my bucket list every day, hour by hour, accomplishing more than yesterday and meeting more people and more challenges.”

Mona is a living example of how we should all live our lives: fun-loving, caring, living life to its fullest, but as she also said, not “crazy stupid.” Her life has purpose.

Mona is an extraordinary woman who has touched her world with countless acts of kindness and has made an eternal contribution to others whom she will never know on earth.
