f you are looking for a great run in aid of a great cause, then Day five of The Forces March is for you! The Forces March has rapidly established itself as a benchmark, multi-marathon event following a highly demanding 133-mile route from Ilfracombe, North Devon, across Exmoor and the Quantock Hills into rural Wiltshire. The event is run over five days from 25th to 29th May. The final stage on Sunday 29th May is run from Maiden Bradley near Warminster to Bulford, Wiltshire finishing at The Forces Festival. This final marathon of five is named “Parki’s Platoon” in honour of Ben Parkinson, patron of PROJECT 65 – The Veterans Charity, who, despite losing both legs in a landmine blast in Afghanistan, finished last year

after walking over 400yds – his first walk in public since the incident in 2006. Participants will set off from Maiden Bradley, Wiltshire at 10am and finally arrive in the centre of The Forces Festival arena to be greeted by the huge crowds expected on the day. Entry for Parki’s Platoon is just £25 with all

proceeds going to the charity. Participants can also raise additional sponsorship money by creating a fundraising page at project65charity. ■ For further details and to enter visit www. Tickets to THE FORCES FESTIVAL are on sale now at from just £5!
