BAY AREA BUILDERS ASSOCIATION NEWS
BABA Summer Lineup Selling More with MLS
A special thanks to Pattie Huey, Prudential Gary Greene, and MLS Director Shawn Dauphine who presented a fantastic program at our April 5 luncheon. The builders in our group especially appreciated the advice on building better relationships between the builder world and the Realtor realm. If we work as a team with a common goal in mind, then we can all sell more homes. They also offered up some great tips on using the MLS to better position listings, raise appraisal values and online ratios, plus best practices.
Builders Making a Difference
A few good words to the builders on the BABA board who participated in the builder calling drive. Your encouragement and ‘silver-tongued’ discussion really made a difference, and we had a great turn-out for the month of April. Thanks guys for stepping up to the plate!
Sponsor Appreciation Crawfish Boil
SILVER Builders Post-Tension Inc 403 RICHEY RD. HOUSTON, TX 77090
On April 19, BABA honored its 2010 sponsors at an invitation-only crawfish boil at the Stevenson Park Pavilion. Special thanks to Greg Tomlinson, Builders Post-Tension, and Scott Mixon, Bayway Homes, for the choice mudbugs and tasty boil. They were extra hot and spicy this year! Once again, a huge thanks to all of our BABA sponsors; everything we do is possible because of your generous support.
Selling at the Speed of Business
2011 BABA President Phil Messarra M.E., CR of

Put your products and services directly in front of your target customers—the builders! Join us for the Bay Area Speed Selling event on May 24 at Perry's Market & Grille. Limited to 10 builders and 10 associates,
this is a prime opportunity to speak face to face with some of the best builders in the Bay Area. Thanks to Judy Crain- Bonica and her Membership Committee for organizing the event.
The Crystal Ball
In May, we look forward to one our most popular meetings of the year, Forecast Luncheon with David Jarvis of Metrostudy. Jarvis will break out his "crystal ball" and give us an insightful economic forecast for the Bay Area and how the homebuilding industry will be affected. Sound intriguing? Sign up early, as this luncheon usually sells out. With more than 25 years of experience in the sale, marketing, management and development of residential real estate, David Jarvis is respected for his real world experience as well as the extensive primary research he brings to the table.
Support Our Troops
Need a little inspiration? Join BABA in June for the BABA Support Our Troops / Operation FINALLY HOME presentation. We are excited to hear from Dan Wallrath about upcoming projects supporting and building homes for wounded U.S. servicemen and their families. This is one way we can give back to our service personnel and make the dream of homeownership come true for those who have sacrificed so much for our freedoms. Please be a part of this luncheon, and be inspired by stories from our heroes. You won't regret it.
BABA is proud to present such great topics to help you boost your bottom line. Why not go ahead and sign up for the rest of this year's luncheons? Contact Karen Krenek at
kkrenek@ghba.org to request registration for the remainder of the year; advance payment of all luncheon fees is required.
