Each year, two homes are built for the Benefit Homes Project with the help of donated materials, labor and services by GHBA members. These luxurious homes are constructed with numerous upgrades and amenities. They are sold at market value. When sold, the majority of the proceeds benefit three local charities, Texas Children’s Cancer Center, the Alzheimer’s Association and HomeAid Houston. Since the Project began 31 years ago, more than $6 million has been raised.
David Weekley Homes will be constructing its Bernard Plan. The official ground breaking is set for May 3. “It is exciting to be a part of the Benefit Homes Project,” said Rick Moore, DWH Houston area president.

“Knowing we have the opportunity to make even a small difference for Texas Children’s Cancer Center, the Alzheimer’s Association and HomeAid Houston, is what David Weekley Homes is all about— Enhancing People’s Lives!”
David Weekley Homes
Since founding in 1976 in Houston, Texas, DWH has become one of America’s most- recognized new home builders, delivering innovative design, incomparable choices and a high level of inspired customer service to hundreds of communities in more than 14 cities. David Weekley Homes is the first home builder in history to attain the coveted Triple Crown in Homebuilding awards, an honor that includes “America’s Best Builder,” “National Builder of the Year,” and the “National Housing Quality Award.” While it is an honor to be recognized by peers and business leaders, customer satisfaction will always be the yardstick by which the company measures its true success.
As a company, DWH’s purpose is to “Enhance People’s Lives: Our Team Members, Our Customers and Our
Community.” David Weekley Homes has taken a proactive approach within the community by devoting time, efforts and money into projects like the Habitat Home. They build homes that enhance people’s safety and security and provide families a place where they can have a positive community experience. “The David Weekley/Bridgeland team is an equation for success,” said Don Klein, chairman of the Project. “Two premier members of the homebuilding industry have come together to provide a ‘Home for Good.’ This means every party’s investment, from the builder/developer team and the subcontractors, to the homebuyer, goes directly to the care of so many less fortunate.”
A second home is being constructed for the Project.
It is being built by
Newmark Homes in Towne Lake just off Barker Cypress near Hwy 290. Caldwell Companies donated the homesite. The 3,973 sq. ft. home’s retail value is $492,059 and its Benefit Home selling price is $395,000 which translates into $97,000 worth of free upgrades.
