The Hampton and Hampton North Working Together Group

Cllr Darren Thornton Originally the

group was called the Hampton North Working Together Group, but as a resident of Hampton North I see my area as being part of Hampton.

The main aim/objective of the group is to improve life for the inhabitants of Hampton and Hampton North by advancing education and providing facilities for social welfare and health; preserving the character and amenities of the neighbourhood; and fostering and developing community spirit.

So who are the Hampton and Hampton North Working Together Group (HHNWTG)? We are a group of local residents and professionals, who live, work or have an interest in the wards of Hampton and Hampton North.

What does the HHNWTG aim to do specifically?

1. To bring together agencies, voluntary organizations, community groups and individuals

with an interest in Hampton and Hampton North to:

•Share information on activities and issues in the wards

•Provide a forum for mutual support

•Provide opportunities for networking

•Identify issues where collaborative action will make a difference

•Provide an over-arching structure for all groups operating in the wards

•Improve communication and consultation with residents of Hampton and Hampton North

•Advocate on behalf of the residents at borough, regional and national levels as appropriate

•Raise funds collaboratively

2. To develop an action plan for the Hampton and Hampton North areas identifying shared priorities:

•Commission and receive reports and updates tackling agreed priority issues

We are currently writing an action plan for the wards on how we can improve them, the four main headings will be along the lines of:

To Improve Hampton and Hampton North’s Environment

To increase involvement in long term learning

To increase involvement in the life of the community

To improve physical and mental health of the residents
