The Big Church Day Out Jools Willoughby


Last year, Mandy and I travelled to


Wiston House in West Sussex for the most exciting music event in the Christian calendar (I made that last bit up myself). The Big Church Day Out is a fantastic outdoor event for everyone to enjoy uplifting worship music and partake of an array of activities – plus loads of yummy foods to try, or you can simply bring your own picnic if you like.


This year, we invite you to think about coming along with others from St Mary’s Church. Last year, there were many church groups there – some even had special T- shirts made for the occasion! The dates for this event are 28 and 29 May 2011, with the event kicking off at 2pm each day.


The line up for this year is Israel Houghton, Matt Redman, Chris Tomlin and the fantastic Toby Mac who, as usual, will get the crowd going with his 70’s disco funk- inspired set. There are different stages with up-and-coming bands and soloists performing. For those


who really enjoy a good boogie, there is a bit of a ‘mosh pit’ at the front of the main stage too.

There is plenty of space to set up your deck chairs, lay down your picnic blanket and simply soak up the atmosphere and great music. For those looking for something extra special, there will be a Tea Tent where you can enjoy a naughty-but-nice cream tea whilst artists such as Lou Fellingham, Graham Kendrick and Stuart Townend perform live.

There is something for everyone at this event and ticket prices will depend on the size of our group – i.e. the more people who sign up, the cheaper it will be.
