While I deplore the plethora of modern translations, I would rather that than having to explain each Sunday what the KJB means.


At St Mary’s we have responded to the KJB’s birthday by adopting the E100 programme. In 100 readings the breadth of the Bible is read. These are not short passages! – but by keeping moving through the whole Bible, a sense of the whole grows. Even more importantly we are challenged to hear God’s word to us each day. That after all is the purpose of it all:


All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that everyone who belongs to God may be proficient, equipped for every good work. 2 Tim 3:16,17
