a folk musician, who could say that’s how they live. As my career has progressed things have become a little easier and I’m now working with a great booking agent in the UK and having joined forces with the excellent folk at Proper Distribution self-releasing an album is no longer such a daunting task.
Jamie and I have also branched out into the world of gig promotion and for almost two years now we have been booking artists to play at a local farm shop café, New Cample Farm. Knowing all too well the difficulties of promoting live music we’ve managed to build up a regular crowd and though small, hope to kick start an interest in folk, roots & acoustic music in our part of Dumfriesshire which was certainly lacking when I was growing up here.
Having just completed a UK tour to launch Traiveller’s Joy I’m now looking forward to spending the spring at home, getting into the garden and spending some much needed time outdoors before the festival season starts and it’s time to go off on new travels.
