Tranmere Rovers’ manager Les Parry swapped his trademark shorts for LJMU’s slightly more formal doctoral robes when he was awarded his PhD during graduation week. The physio turned manager’s thesis was entitled ‘Injuries in Professional Football and The Effects of De-Training’. The graduation ceremony marked the end of a six-year labour of love but Dr Parry’s links with LJMU are still going strong thanks to the Football Exchange’s work with his club.
