Eugenio and Jeanne Escalante, of Naples-based Escalante Video Photography, bring a fresh, award-winning approach to video and still camera production services for residents of Collier and Lee counties.

Eugenio was a photojournalist for numerous magazines and newspapers in his native Venezuela for more than 15 years. He says his photographic style has been influenced by Henri Cartier-Bresson, Edward Weston, Richard Avedon, Robert Map- plethorpe and Cindy Sherman.
Jeanne began taking pictures as a child and has been inspired and motivated by her avid photographer father and her life’s travels. She says her special passions are capturing, “…nature and the environment, [which] perfectly marry with Eugenio’s work with personalities and the ability he has to connect with people’s inner spirit.”

He will explore the dynamics of personal alchemy and the road of trans- formation that leads to becoming a more conscious human being, using the signs,

planets, four elements and the Seven Rays as guiding symbols. From 7 to 10 p.m., May 20, Oken will present an Introduc- tion to the Alchemical Work ($35). From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., May 21, he will offer two lectures: The Alchemy of Fire and The Alchemy of Earth ($95). The weekend will culminate on May 22, with The Alchemy of Air and The Alchemy of Water, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. ($95).
Oken will also lead the Wesak Festival Meditation at 7 p.m., May 17, and conduct private sessions on May 24 and 25, by appointment.
