The FREE monthly community magazine for Dartmouth and local villages

Best read local publication by far IN THIS ISSUE Dear Reader

With Spring around the corner, boat-owners start turning their attention to preparing their craft for the new season. A hive of activity starts breaking out around local boatyards as the pressure of launch dates beckon. We’ve some useful advice on how & what to buy for the new season - see Fitting Out.

The big highlight of the entertainment calendar in March is the Dartmouth Comedy Festival, now a major fixture of the local scene and the UK comedy circuit. We talk to the organisers. Many of us have supped or drank in Dartmouth’s Royal Castle - we feature a Day in their Life.

Interviewees this month include Dr Graham Lockerbie; local electrician and published author Clive Maddison: the Financial Ombudsman David Thomas; local artist Neil Patey; Stoke Fleming & Blackawton Head Teacher Michael Rolls; Kingswear ‘swordsman’ Alan Payne; vet Colin Hair and Parish Secretary Jill Cawley.

Such is the breadth of coverage of By The Dart, we feature 2011 Interior Design Trends and Dartmouth’s Yoga Boys!

An apology to Cllr C J Tremlett, local councillor for Dartmouth’s Clifton Ward who we mistakenly omitted from our 2011 Business & Community Directory. His contact details are 43 South Ford Road, Dartmouth, TQ6 9QT. Tel: 01803 833020 and email: john.tremlett@talktalk.net.

Finally, my thanks to the person who handed in my iPhone having found it where I dropped it on the ferry ramp. There are still honest people out there!

Enjoy the issue. Mark Simpson, Publisher
