COMMUNITY OUTREACH: The Public Art Committee has long been interested in exploring ways to build awareness of the public art collection and the role that public art can play in enhancing an urban environment. The City’s first public art brochure was published in 2006 and is updated on a regular basis. The brochure is widely distributed through tourism information centers, cultural venues and information kiosks throughout downtown and the Cultural District.

More information about the collection can be found at www.kelowna.ca and www.kelownasculturaldistrict.com.

Kelowna’s public art collection reflects an investment of over $1 million, but more importantly it reflects over a decade of commitment and support from a succession of Councils to the idea that the presence of art in public spaces helps to contribute to a vibrant, livable city.
