RIDE a Welsh cob through its home habitat. Ellesmere Riding Centre offers the ultimate riding experience for anyone from complete novices to experienced riders.

Its stables, on the shores of Llagorse Lake, near Brecon, house 20 well-schooled horses and the centre organises rides through the outstanding scenery of the Brecon Beacons National Park, including the rugged Black Mountains.

Ride one of Ellesmere&#x2019;s &#x2018;made for the job&#x2019; Welsh cob and cob crosses. The centre has horses to suit those wanting a gentle pony trek for the absolute novice

or riding at a faster pace for the more experienced rider.

The centre provides half and full day treks for novices and the more accomplished riders and also organises two six-day trail rides, covering up to 25 miles a day, for more experienced riders.

Ellesmere Riding Centre is open from April to the end of October and can be found by following the B4560 from the A40 at Bwlch and following signs for Llangorse Lake.

PSM Outdoors, situated in Hay-on- Wye, offer courses for beginners to learn how to safely control and paddle an open Canadian style canoe or kayak down the River Wye in style.

PSM believes in using the latest canoes, kayaks and safety equipment, together with suitably qualified and experienced local BCU instructors to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable experience.

The company has an up to date fleet of open canoes and kayaks, as well as several other different types of craft.

An introductory course gives customers an opportunity to learn new paddling skills, build confidence, learn about safety and

rescue techniques,

as well as enjoying the surrounding environment and wildlife.

Small group of adults (usually around 4-6) ensure customers get the chance to try different types of craft and receive plenty of guidance.

A single day beginners course cost &#xA3;60 per person, booking is essential.
