Morning Show, with its approximately 7 million listeners, and has presented a night- ly show called The Steve Harvey Project; for which Harvey says, “is an off-shoot of my radio show except it gives you a little bit more sneak-peeks behind the scenes of what we do on the radio.” “It is a condensed version, where the characters that are on the radio show come to life without the mu- sic,” states Harvey, whose show is on at 9 pm EST/8 pm CST on CENTRIC. Along with the debuts of his two televi-

sion programs, Harvey’s relationship ad- vice on “Strawberry Letter”, a segment of his radio show, led to a book deal with Har- perCollins. Harvey’s first book, Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man was released in January 2009 and quickly became a #1 New York Times Best Seller. The book gave women insight to understanding and antici- pating the male mind. In December 2010, Harvey released another book titled, Straight Talk, No Chaser: How to Find, Keep and Understand a Man. Harvey claims his second book is not a follow up to the first book, rather “It goes deeper into some subjects that I never touched in my first book. It offers a woman greater insight but hitting them much tougher this time.” As for becoming another bestseller, “I would love for this book to be bigger than the first, but it really isn’t up to me. The first book wasn’t supposed to sell this many copies either, but we shall see.” With the mindset of pulling yourself

over your bootstrap, Harvey likes to “go to work and get things done.” “I think we can solve a lot of the problems within our com- munity ourselves. Those mentoring pro- grams I have wouldn’t be necessary if every man would just take on his responsibili- ties”, suggests Harvey. Being a celebrity doesn’t come with an easy territory, “Peo- ple are looking at you in any way, good or bad and guess what, you are a role model.” Harvey admits he has made millions of mistakes, but recognizing them and moving forward makes you a stronger person. As busy of a man that he is, Steve Har-

vey doesn’t plan on retiring and living the rest of his life on an island to play golf all day, rather he wants to continue working and hopes that people will remember him for being a servant of the people, “who re- ally took some time out on his journey to show people how to get onto their own journey.”
