For the second time in as many weeks, a


winter weather system hit North Buncombe,


piling up several inches of snow, sending


temperatures spiraling into the low teens and


cancelling schools. Only a few brave souls made it out Monday (Dec. 13),


and conditions gradually improved as the week progressed. Area


emergency personnel


reported little in the way of trouble from motorists and residents. Chris

there were a few vehicles sliding off the roads, but for the most part, residents remained safe.
