Eagle Point in Bend, Oregon. They decided they wanted to breed and raise sport horses that could compete at the highest levels and with that goal in mind, Joyce made an in depth study of horse conformation and breeding theory and subsequently traveled the country in search of a foundation stallion for their newly established breeding farm. She fell in love with a beautiful bright chestnut stallion who had recently been imported from Poland. Although he was not for sale, Joyce knew he was “the one” when she entered his stall while he was laying down. He never stood, so she knelt beside him and he simply took a deep sigh and put his head on her knees. His beauty and lovely temperament drew her to him and she convinced the owner to sell him, assuring him she would do this horse justice. This was Adler, the wonderful stallion who became the foundation for Eagle Point. The Pedigo’s competed him to an Olympic Silver Medal in Dressage and he entered stud at Eagle Point and has sired many champions for the Pedigo’s.

The Pedigo’s 13 year old grandson, Ryan Pedigo, came to live with them on the farm in Oregon in 1993, bringing his dogs, cats and chickens. He displayed a great love for animals and was a tremendous help to his grandmother in the barn. He helped with foaling, mannering and starting the babies. Joyce has foaled some 80 babies at Eagle Point and Ryan helped with many of them. Early on, Joyce sensed her grandson would become a great horseman and she saw that he had natural talent as a rider. Thus she felt very blessed when Ryan returned to Southern California after 5 years at Eagle Point with his grandparents, and he found Ron Kennedy, owner of Kennedy Farms. Ron was established as an outstanding horse trainer and rider and he immediately saw in Ryan exactly what Ryan’s grandmother had seen. Ron and Ryan have worked very hard together and with Ron’s expert coaching, Ryan has successfully ridden many horses on the Southern California “A” Show Circuit, including a number of Joyce and Richard Pedigo’s homebreds. Currently, there are 10 of the Pedigo’s horses in training at Kennedy Farms in Chino Hills, California and these horses are winning Championships with Ryan Pedigo in the irons.
Count von Charm EP Ridden by Ryan Pedigo
The Pedigo’s have especially high hopes for two young stallions they bred who are in training at Kennedy Farms: Count von Charm EP and Catrine EP. Ryan has already shown the handsome Count von Charm EP to Championships and the beautiful young grey stallion Catrine EP has recently been started and shows tremendous potential. These two stallions represent the future for Eagle Point, the outstanding breeding farm established by Joyce and Richard Pedigo. The hope is that they become successors to Adler and continue the legacy of the Pedigo Family, fulfilling Joyce Pedigo’s dream of a careful, thoughtful, and successful breeding farm.
