Earth Fare Aims To Eliminate

Childhood Obesity with their Itty Bitty Bites™ Program

Did you know that due to the childhood obesity epidemic, this is the first generation of American children who may have shorter life expectancies than their parents? Earth Fare, the healthy supermar- ket, is responding to this epidemic with their Itty Bitty Bites™ program launched this past spring.

Itty Bitty Bites is a fun, educational program that inspires kids to make healthy lifestyle choices. Through heroes and villains, trading cards, a comic book series and activ- ity sheets, kids learn about good versus bad ingredients and the importance of their food choices.

The program will also feature the Itty Bitty Bites Kid’s Healthy Meal™. This meal empowers kids to make their own healthy choices by selecting from a combination of cold/hot entrees, fresh sides, snacks and drinks for only $3.99.

With the growing concern about BPA and other health issues regarding plastics additives leaching into food, the Life Fac- tory bottles are a great option to cut plastic out of the equation. These glass baby bottles come in two sizes (4oz and 9oz). Each one comes with a stylish silicon sleeve that protects the glass from breaking if it is dropped. The nipple is made of silicon and is non-toxic. There are also solid caps that make the glass bottles good for milk storage. The only thing we would like to see in the future is a wide- mouth version of the bottle, for those babies who prefur the wider nipples. lifefactory.com
