HISTORICAL HAPPENINGS

The Pierce Brigade Launches Campaign to Paint Pierce Manse

 The Pierce Brigade kicked off their “Bucket Brigade” cam-

paign this week and seeks donations to help restore the exterior appearance of President Pierce’s historic Concord home. The Pierce Brigade is seeking help from the community

in raising funds to purchase supplies for the Pierce Manse, which is in desperate need of painting. The Pierce Brigade has secured pro bono labor to complete the required repairs to the cedar clapboards, scraping and repainting of the historic 19th century home. However, the project will require an estimated 25 gallons of paint and 17 gallons of primer, in addition to a small number of replacement cedar clapboards. Individuals interested in joining the “Bucket Brigade” can

send $28 per can of paint to the Pierce Brigade, Post Of- fice Box 425, Concord, New Hampshire, 03302. The Pierce Brigade is a 501(c)(3) organization and all contributions are tax-deductible.
