The Borough of Poole invite initial expressions of interest for the day to day running and improvement of Upton Country Park in Poole.


Have you an exemplary track record managing heritage and leisure attractions? Can you maximise income whilst meeting local needs, expectations and aspirations? Are you interested in expanding your activities in the world class environment of Poole Harbour?


If the answer to these questions are ‘yes’ then read on. Upton Country Park is situated by Poole Harbour. Currently managed by the Council’s Leisure Services the site includes a Grade II* Listed House with courtyard tea rooms, 98 acres of formal and semi natural green space with Green Flag status. Upton Farm is 154 acres currently managed for livestock under a separate tenancy. The Council seeks an exemplary provider or consortium to secure a long term future for the facility whilst providing affordable and accessible public green space and an exemplary heritage and leisure facility.


Experienced providers are invited to a market sounding day on 4 October 2010 to hear more about the potential opportunities this site offers including tours and an opportunity for questions and answers with relevant Council offi cers. The Borough of Poole has no intention of selling the land or buildings, but welcomes expressions that outline all or part management of the facility. This ‘market sounding’ is not a competition and does not constitute part of any tendering process. Nor is it a public consultation – there will be active consultation at a later date.
