Standing on Ceremony Artists


A Steady Rain


NYTW’s annual benefit was held on October 4, 2009. The evening began with dinner at the 21 Club followed by a special performance of A Steady Rain, starring Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig. After the performance, guests enjoyed an after-show nightcap at Angus McIndoe.


Standing on Ceremony


On Monday, June 14, NYTW partnered with Human Rights Campaign and Marriage Equality New York to present Standing on Ceremony: The Gay Marriage Plays. Short plays by such noteworthy playwrights as Neil LaBute, Kathy Najimy, Paul Rudnick and Doug Wright were read by a star-studded cast including: B. D. Wong, Judd Hirsch, and Matthew Broderick. Dancing and a glamorous wedding reception at the historic Angel Orensanz Foundation followed the play readings. The event raised money for all three organizations, bringing aware- ness to the important civil rights issue of marriage equality.

Repeat Defenders


NYTW’s special patron program, The Society of Repeat Defenders, is a group of passionate theatre-goers who help support the artistic undertakings of the Workshop. Repeat Defenders were invited to exclusive behind-the- scenes events throughout the season including pre- show cocktail receptions for each of our productions, fireside chats, panel discussions, staged readings and other presentations of works-in-progress.


4th Street Bar Association


NYTW’s 4th Street Bar Association (4SBA) is a diverse group of young professionals that support the artistic activities of the theatre and help introduce NYTW to a new generation of audience members. Led by a Steering Committee of dedicated volunteers, 4SBA had another fun-filled and eventful year in 2009/10, bringing old friends together and cultivating new members at a variety of events including: pre- and post-performance receptions with affiliated artists and NYTW staff, the annual Summer Bar Crawl and a benefit event at the new Broadway musical American Idiot.
