Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) was awarded The Hispanic Business Vision and Leadership Award by the Hispanic American Chamber of Commerce of Rhode Island (HACCRI) at the organi- zation’s 10th Year Anniversary Awards Gala at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence on May 4th. Juana Horton, HACCRI Chairwom-
an remarked: “Mr. Palomarez has dem- onstrated a true commitment as the new leader of the USHCC to engage with the Hispanic business commu- nity, chamber by chamber. He brings a fresh and welcome energy to the posi- tion, and we in Rhode Island are excit- ed and encouraged by his humble and collaborative style.” The Awards Gala drew over 300 people including state and local government officials, as well as prominent business and community leaders. Palomarez also served as key- note speaker at the event, providing re- marks about the importance of the His- panic Chambers of Commerce to their communities and the key role they play in helping businesses, particularly dur- ing difficult economic times. “We are
also thankful for the collaboration and support of partners such as CVS, Bank of America and Verizon, who help our chambers provide many of the pro- grams that would otherwise not be possible,” added Javier Palomarez. “It is a truly heartening experience
to travel the country and see the in- credible work that Hispanic chambers of commerce such as HACCRI do ev- ery day. I am inspired by the dedica- tion of leaders such as Ms. Horton to growing economic opportunities for Hispanic businesses in her communi- ty,” said Palomarez. “I witnessed this creativity first-hand, attending the His- panic Business Showcase that Juana’s chamber hosted in conjunction with the annual Business Expo at the Rhode Island Convention Center to provide HACCRI’s member businesses a broad consumer audience.”
