An autobiography about a career-absorbed journalist who visits his retired college professor, where they find the basic truths of living, dying and what it means to love.

The Weaverville Girl Scouts enjoy a recent bridging ceremony. Photo by Alicia Sisk-Morris. Te Weaverville Girl Scout Troop 26

camped Saturday (July 10) and Sunday (July 11) at the Briar Bottom Group Site, which is a part of the Black Moun- tain Camp Ground and located at the foot of Mount Mitchell near Burns- ville. During the weekend, the troop lead-

ers performed a bridging ceremony. Tis ceremony celebrates the accom- plishments of each girl as they pro- gressed from Daisy Scout to Brownie Scout and from Brownie to Junior Scout. Families were in attendance to celebrate in the girls accomplishments. Te troop also hiked to a water-

fall, took a course on stream ecology, camped, sang songs, made campfire

treats and learned to cook outdoors. Te Weaverville Girl Scout Troop 26

has an open-door policy and welcomes any girl interested in the scouting expe- rience. Tey range from Daisy Scouts

all the way through Ambassador Scouts (grades K-12). For more information, go to gstroop026.webs.com .

Tis special to the Tribune.
